It’s easy to get excited about new projects. People are enticed by new and different ideas, opportunities and objects.
It’s easy to get caught up in other people’s projects, questions and agendas. After all, it’s nice to be needed. Other people’s priorities are a better alternative to a long list of procrastinations.
Here’s the problem. When people react to life, people limit themselves. They experience short term gains and end up with even longer to-do lists. Founder of Farnam Street, Shane Parrish tweeted (December 15, 2020), You are your actions, not what you signal. Where you place your attention is what you value.
Reactions distract people from the things that truly matter. Reactions inhibit people from achieving outcomes and goals.
Time is the most precious currency. Make a deliberate plan and stick with it.
